Parish Worker Ilse-Dore Seidel
I have been living in Australia and working in St. Johns parish since September 2010. My main areas of work include organising activities for the next generation, the Alpha course, and introducing Christian popular and worship music into the congregational life. Through a variety of projects and innovative ideas, I endeavour to open the door to the parish and to the Christian faith, in particular for people in the 16-36 age bracket. I enjoy meeting people for personal discussions, discovering their talents, and finding ways for them to engage with the congregation.
On a personal note: I love sounds, whether in tune or not! Good singing both quietly and loudly, accompanied by the guitar, piano, cajon, violin ... most of all to praise the Lord. I like the luscious autumnal hues - something I miss a bit in Australia. I love butterflies, which are found in great variety and are magnificently beautiful here in Australia. They remind me of the wonder of transformation and the gift of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who gave us the promise of eternal life.
